All that negativity swirling around in the world getting you down? You can do something about it and it's not hard, time consuming, or expensive! Chances are you have everything you need except the design.

Got Puckers? 9 Professional Pointers for Pucker Prevention

Eight years ago, I wrote a post called Why Does My Embroidery Pucker (find it linked at the end of this post) and during the recently wrapped 2017 Virtual Sewing, Quilt, and Embroidery Expo, I focused on pucker problems in my two-part class called Professional Pointers for Pucker Prevention.

Embossed Monograms for Towels & Other Lofty Fabrics

Towel Tricks

Embossed monograms on towels are an easy and fun technique. They're also impressive looking and elegant and can work with most any decor.

An advantage with embossed monograms is that they're designed to let the nap peek through so you don't have to worry about the nap poking up though the design or your design getting lost in the nap, typically exactly what you want to avoid under normal circumstances.

More Ways to Customize an In-the-Hoop Bag

More Ways to Customize an In-the-Hoop Bag

A plain design can often provide more opportunities for creativity than a more decorative version. Really?

For one thing, you don’t have to worry about any included embroidery design(s) competing with the fabric—or clashing with your ideas. With in-the-hoop designs, you're choosing your own fabrics so why not choose the designs and other elements that make your project "you?"

For that reason, I created a collection of basic in-the-hoop bags that max out popular hoop sizes from 130 x 180mm (5x7”) on up to the newest humongous hoops on the latest Brother and Baby Lock models. And there are some sizes in between.

In-the-Hoop Glasses/Phone Slip Case

In-the-Hoop Glasses/Phone Slip Case

After creating the ITH Snappy Eyeglasses case, I had many requests for a simpler version that could be completed in one hooping with no additional sewing.

"Snap bags"—those clever little purses that use a metal tape measure to form a secure closure—are very popular. I see them all over the net in all sorts of fun fabrics. And while most of them are lined, the seams are still exposed on the inside.
