Looping
Thread loops on the surface of the embroidery is generally caused by poor top tensions or other tension problems. Looping is also more likely to occur:
- With polyester thread than rayon
- In fills and running stitches with longer stitches
- In areas of excessive density
- On thicker fabrics like leather and belt webbing
Note: If you increase the size of a design without a stitch processor, the stitch length will increase and so will the potential for looping. Some machines control tensions much better than others.
